Dual Income Programs
Affiliate programs.
Pay-per-lead. Click Networks. What started as a handful of programs in each category has
grown at a most rapid pace over the last year. The number of choices for affiliates has
become almost staggering, which is very good news for webmasters such as you and I.
The sheer number of programs and the diversity of choices has led to a lot of competition
between affiliate programs for successful affiliate sites. This competition is helping to
create more advanced, and profitable programs for many.
One of the recent developments in affiliate programs have been what I term Dual-Income
programs. These are programs that offer to pay affiliates in two or more different ways.
This not only helps the program be more profitable for the affiliates (thereby helping the
merchant quickly gain quality affiliate sites), but it also has helped reduce the risk
affiliate's face with promoting a program, and not knowing how effective it will be with
their visitors.
The most common type of Dual-Income program are those that combines typical affiliate
commissions (pay-per-sale) with pay-per-click bonuses. The pay-per-click bonus gives
affiliates an immediate benefit as soon as someone clicks through from their site, with
the pay-per-sale aspect giving them the ability to earn larger commissions later if the
visitor makes a purchase.
The benefits of these programs are quite obvious, so I want to use the rest of this space
to highlight a handful of programs that are already making use of this concept (follow the
links for the detailed review):
Lease2Purchase
- This is a new program that promotes Lease2Purchase's excellent
guide to buying and leasing real estate property. Their program
is not only two-tier, but also pays generous commissions for both
click-throughs and sales. In summary, on the first level, they pay
$0.05 per click and a 30% commission. On the second level, they
pay $0.02 per click and a 10% commission. They also even pay a $1
bounty for referring new webmasters.
FreeShop
- The FreeShop program has long been rated a Top Opportunity on
ClickQuick. Quite a few sites have reported success with this program.
They pay both on a per-click and per-lead basis. They currently
pay $0.05 per click-through and commissions of 30-50% on the revenue
they generate from various pay-per-lead offers (such as free product
trials or magazine samples).
