So whats the best method of using banner exchanges? The most effective
method of using banner exchanges to promote affiliate programs
is to join an exchange that 'pays' you credits for referring other
members to the network. This will allow you to earn credits from
the banners they display on their web sites, in addition to those
you earn from displaying ads on your web site.
Two
banner networks in particular work well in this regards. The first
is LinkBuddies,
which has long been considered one of the best networks available.
They 'pay' you 10% of the credits people you refer earn each week
(where ONE credit earns you one ad display). LinkBuddies also offers
above-average targeting of sites, allowing you to choose exactly
which types of sites you would like your ads to appear on.

also encourages referrals, paying an a small upfront 'bonus' and
also paying 20% of credits members you refer generate (note that
here, TWO credits earn you one ad display, effectively making this
the same rate as LinkBuddies).
