Program Details:
Away.com's affiliate program allows you to earn various levels of commissions for referring new users to Away.com's free services (including their screen saver, email newsletters, and travel planner). Away.com is unique in that they pay travel related web sites a higher commission than non-travel related web sites. The logic here is that referred visitors from travel related web sites will be more valuable to Away.com than those from non-travel related sites. Commission is also dependent on the volume of new members you refer. Commissions start at $0.25 for non-travel sites, and $0.50 for travel sites. They can go as high as $1.75 and $2.00 respectively, but you would need to refer over 100,000 members in a month to reach that level. Away.com also offers two bonuses to affiliates. First, you can earn $25 by simply adding the Away.com links to your site within one week of joining the program. Second, you can earn an additional $25 bonus when you refer your 500th member. Both bonuses are paid when you refer your 500th member to Away.com. Commissions are tracked through affiliate IDs included in the Away.com URLs you receive as an affiliate. Online reports are available to allow you to monitor your progress. Checks are issued quarterly, once commissions reach $50.

Limited feedback on the Away.com program has been received, although it generally has been quite positive. Unlike the majority of the other travel related programs, Away.com is pay-per-lead, resulting in much higher conversion ratios.
